BACKEND TECH LEAD

We are looking for a hands on backend tech lead who will lead the team of highly skillful Python developers, and who will take on the planning of the architecture and the development challenges when scaling to thousands of customers. You will be working with fine-grained servicearchitecture deployed on the AWS cloud. You will be responsible for implementing and concepting long-term scalable architecture. You are hands on and care about being proud of the code your team produces. You are very technical, have a deep understanding of the Python ecosystem and general software engineering practices. You are always on top of the latest technical developments in the market, have a strong experience in building B2B Saas softwares and love our domain (financial and non-financial data management). You have many years of experience with Python and love its granularities and possibilities. Building the vision and architecture of an international Fintech on Python is what would give you a personal kick. The position focuses more on tech leadership rather than people management.Responsibilities● Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable architectural concepts● Lead technical quality of our backend systems● Lead our backend team towards technical excellence● Become an expert in our domain and a go to guy in the team for all technical questions in theback-end● Support BE engineers in their tasks and their development● Help maintain code quality, organization and automation● Work in an agile environment with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver valueSkills● A start-up mindset and adherence to classic leanstart-up principles● Deep understanding of Python and its nuances● Solid experience with design and buildingadvanced systems with Python● Experience with different data storage types andservices (SQL and NoSQL)● Cloud services experience (preferably AWS).● Strong understanding of general good softwareengineering practices● A knack for writing clean, readable, scalablecode● A good business sense and understanding of ourcustomer needs● Understanding of fundamental design principlesbehind a scalable application● Several years of proven tech lead/architectexperience● Understanding of modern DevOps best practice for distributed apps: CI/CD, containers, serverless deployment, microservices, MQ, etc.Would be a strong plus● Experience working with cloud automation● Experience with GraphQL● Experience with financial reporting/analytics system● Big data projectsYou can expect...● Being a part of a highly motivated international team of smart seniors● Flexible working hours and lots of responsibility● A workplace in the heart of Vienna or remote options with quarterly office weeks in Vienna
