Our innovative digital platform ensures freelancers can manage documents and information effortlessly while connecting with a global network of like-minded professionals.We are currently seeking a Global Payroll Controller to join the Hightekers team and own the payroll function across multiple countries. This role will initially focus on managing payroll operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, with the opportunity to expand and optimize payroll processes in additional regions (e.g., India, Italy, and the UK). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is systems-savvy, and is passionate about process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.Your Responsibilities in this role:Payroll Management:Oversee monthly payroll operations across multiple countries (NL, BE, DE initially) with a focus on quality control and compliance.Drive and audit work performed by payroll providers to ensure accurate processing of wages, tax withholdings, deductions, and garnishments.Manage the integration of new payroll providers and systems as Hightekers expands operations to additional countries (e.g., IN, IT).Ensure accurate pension scheme uploads and processing, particularly in the UK and NL.Process Optimization and CollaborationIdentify pain points in the monthly payroll workflow and lead improvements across teams, including Account Managers, HR, and payroll vendors.Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to implement process automation and streamline payroll systems.Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.Governance and Compliance:Ensure adherence to local regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements in all countries.Manage payroll-related reports, reconciliations, and general ledger entries with the Finance team.Prepare and provide data for external audits and regulatory filings.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll records with accuracy and discretion.Special Projects and Initiatives:Support system updates, integrations, and new payroll software implementations.Contribute to documentation and improvements in payroll processes and workflows.What you bring to the role and the team:Required:Proven experience overseeing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries.Knowledge of international payroll, benefits administration, and tax compliance.Expertise in payroll systems, global payroll software, and HRIS platforms.Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.Fluency in English (written and spoken).Valuable:Proficiency in another European language (e.g., Dutch, German, or French).Experience with implementing payroll providers and systems in new countries.Join Hightekers and play a pivotal role in shaping the payroll function as we expand globally.
