PURCHASING CATEGORY MANAGER

We are currently seeking a Category Lead Buyer for raw materials. This role is responsible for ensuring a multi-year, uninterrupted supply of selected category materials to our factories, while maintaining competitive costs and quality compliance. You will develop category expertise, work cross-functionally across responsible spend areas, and prepare, lead, and execute global strategic sourcing initiatives in collaboration with the line manager, with the goal of becoming a category expert.Key responsibilities include:Sourcing the entrusted portfolio, specializing in markets to gain a competitive advantage and achieve continuous improvement by minimizing spend.Performing global internal and external analyses, generating local opportunity proposals, and contributing to global opportunity assessments.Defining, leading, and successfully implementing global purchasing strategies and/or action plans by category, and executing and/or supervising negotiations with suppliers regarding price, quality, and delivery conditions of materials.Mobilizing the business to implement category plans.Providing the company with a competitive advantage.Reporting and explaining negotiation results and their impact within the company.Translating feedstock and market assumptions into the annual budget and quarterly reforecast of portfolio spend.Ensuring up-to-date and accurate purchasing data and related information in the information systems.Developing and expanding the supply base to ensure the capacity and flexibility to meet all organizational requirements.Managing suppliers professionally and proactively to ensure high levels of supplier performance.Ensuring that the legal framework, codes, and guidelines are applied in tenders, negotiations, and contracts.Leading the resolution of any escalated issues with suppliers.Setting key performance indicators.Engaging and influencing stakeholders.For this exciting role, we require:A university degree in business, finance, commerce, economics, or engineering.At least 3 years of experience in a Procurement role within the FMCG sector.A proven ability to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, directly linked to COGs and/or overhead budgets, with a track record of successfully implementing projects.Experience within global, multicultural organizations and a demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with people from different cultures and in various cross-functional teams.Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.A high level of proficiency in English (spoken and written).Strong analytical skills.A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.The ability to work autonomously across a variety of projects and under pressure.Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and projects.A commitment to continuous professional development for yourself and others.
