Headquartered in Garching, Germany, they have established themselves as a global leader in creating high-quality equipment for handling sensitive materials in industries like semiconductor manufacturing, nuclear processing, pharmaceuticals, research, and lithium-ion batterydevelopment.The PositionDue to continued growth and an influx of a number of high-value projects they are looking to hire an experienced Senior Design Engineer to strengthen their custom projects team. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the creation of mechanical systems, components, design & safety calculations, risk assessments and FMEAs for bespoke machinery systems.This person will also be responsible for conceptualising designs, conducting simulations, managing projects, and guiding junior engineers to ensure that mechanical systems meet all safety and technical specifications.Depending on the complexity of the project and project stage, this person will work on roughly three to four parallel projects ranging in value from €0.5 million up to €5 million+. Due to the complex nature of the projects this person will work with interdisciplinary teams and involves collaboration with internal development teams including electrical and software engineering, project management and sales/applications.Your Key Responsibilities:You analyse customer requirements for hermetically sealed containment systems for Nuclear applications, concerning technical feasibility and developing suitable solutions with a focus on personal protectionWork in interdisciplinary teams to develop detailed solution concepts and translate these into specificationsPrepare ergonomic considerations, design calculations, safety calculations, risk assessments and FMEAs for the plant concept you have developedTransfer the technical solution concept into cost structures on the basis of which the system can be offeredCreate the basic mechanical and process engineering design in the form of flow charts and 3D modelsThey define the quality standards necessary for the project, particularly with regard to materials, welding procedures and tests and surface finishThey cooperate with external approval bodies as required to achieve the required certificationsInstruct detailed designers, technical draftsmen and editors involved in the project regarding the implementation and monitor their work resultsYou support the sales department in technical detail discussions with customersYour profile for this positionYou have completed a degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering, nuclear engineering or a comparable qualificationYou have several years of relevant experience in plant engineering in at least one of the pharmaceutical, biotech or nuclear sectorsYou are proficient in relevant CAE tools – especially for creating 3D models and P&IDsYou have experience in the practical application of common standards and guidelines from mechanical engineering, process and welding technologyYou have a great interest and understanding of new technical developments, challenges and solutionsYou impress with your own responsibility, independence and a very structured and organized way of workingYou enjoy developing innovative, technically sophisticated solutions together with customers and colleaguesYou have very good German and English skills, a sense of responsibility as well as a strong team orientation and service mentalityWhat can you expect?An interesting challenge with a lot of personal responsibility and independence, as well as an attractive and modern working environment and good development opportunities with varied tasks at the highest technological levelExciting projects in interdisciplinary, international teams with the opportunity to gain international experiencePerformance-based remuneration model, employee benefits and social services of a modern company and provide family-friendly and balanced working hours and flexitime modelsExtensive training in the first few months through a mentoring model and support you through individual training and further education programs
