SENIOR SPECIALIST BUSINESS STRATEGY, OPERATIONAL DATA STRATEGY

The Senior Specialist Business Strategy, Operational Data Intelligence reports to the Director of Operational Data Intelligence.
This role will aid with data diagnostics/landscaping, requirements and user story development, process and stakeholder management for operational data.
You will develop impactful visualisations with user-centric design at the centre of delivery.
This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in the field of Operational Data Strategy.
Accountabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and assist in translating them into detailed data requirements and user stories.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to document and optimize business processes related to operational data.
- Actively develop visualisations and impactful reporting for a range of different audiences within Research and Development.
- Support with the testing of visualisations and reporting.
- Apply design thinking knowledge to the Operational Data Strategy reporting suite.
- Conduct data diagnostics and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist in data landscaping efforts to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance for operational datasets.
- Engage in knowledge forums and communities of practice to stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and operational data management.
Essential Skills/Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data analysis principles, with a willingness to learn and apply new techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, and process flows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an eagerness to learn from senior team members.
- Proficient level of usage of tools such as PowerPoint, Excel.
- Proficient with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI or similar.
Desirable Skills/Experience.
- Basic understanding of SQL, data querying, and data manipulation is advantageous.
- Interest in operational data management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with Atlassian (Jira) or familiar tools.
- Management or strategy consultancy experience.
- Experience in the life sciences industry.
