The new team member will contribute to the national project IMPaCT-Data.
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the backend architecture of our applications, developing new features, and creating innovative services that drive our projects forward.
You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing existing systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in our development process, collaborating with cross-functional teams as the EGA is compounded by several teams, with different backgrounds and experience.
Your contributions will directly impact our users, helping to create seamless and efficient digital experiences.
You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, engage in meaningful problem-solving, and take ownership of projects from conception to deployment.

ga-archive.
rg) is a resource for permanent secure archiving and sharing of all types of potentially identifiable bio-molecular, phenotypic, and clinical data resulting from biomedical research projects.
We host more than 16 petabytes of data, that includes more than studies and datasets.
The EGA, co-managed by the CRG (www.
rg.
u) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI, www.
bi.
c.
k), is an active partner in numerous international and national projects and contributes to establishing international standards in genomics and health research.
Currently, the EGA is involved in many precision medicine initiatives and projects and looks forward to providing advanced services for that research community.
The EGA team at CRG is a diverse group (currently 24 people and steadily growing) composed of bioinformaticians, developers and scientists from various backgrounds.

Whom would we like to hire?  Professional experience  Must Have You have at least 6 years of experience in the development of backend solutions Desirable but not required/ Nice to have Java (Spring and plain) No-SQL databases (specially, mongoDB)  You speak Spanish and/or Catalan Education and training You hold a bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)  Languages You are fluent in English, as it is the working language of the group Technical skills PostgreSQL.
Database management experience is a major plus.
