BIG DATA DEVELOPER

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Big Data Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development, extensive experience with big data technologies, and the ability to innovate strategically across different situations. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to impactful projects within the transactional regulatory reporting space.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance big data applications.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Build and deploy microservices using Spring Boot and Openshift in a cloud environment.Integrate various databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and work with big data platforms such as Kafka to ensure smooth data flow.Implement complex business rules and workflows using Drools.Develop, test, and optimize Java-based applications with a focus on high availability and fault tolerance.Leverage Jenkins for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to ensure smooth and automated deployment processes.Collaborate effectively with teams using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.Contribute innovative ideas to solve technical problems and drive the development of new solutions.Provide support and troubleshooting in the management of big data platforms and applications.Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in the big data domain, bringing new ideas and solutions to the team.Required Skills & Experience:Java/Javascript​: Strong experience in building backend applications and scriptingDatabase Knowledge: Proficient in working with various databases including Oracle and PostgreSQLVersion Control & CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with GitHub and Jenkins for code versioning and deployment automationBig Data Technologies: Knowledge of Kafka, Drools, and microservice architectureMicroservices & Cloud Platforms: Experience in designing and deploying microservices with Spring Boot on OpenshiftAgile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like Jira and ConfluenceInnovative Mindset: Ability to think strategically and offer innovative solutions to solve complex challengesDesirable SkillsCloud Technologies: Familiarity with S3, ElasticSearch, and other cloud-based toolsFrontend Development: Experience with Angular for building interactive front-end applicationsStream Processing: Experience with Flink for real-time data streamingBusiness Domain Knowledge: Experience or understanding of Transactional Regulatory Reporting or similar regulated areas in the financial or banking industryQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).Proven experience as a Big Data Developer or similar role.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a passion for continuous learning and improvementPersonal Attributes:Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proactive attitude with a focus on delivering results in a timely manner
