The Opportunity Business Controller WL Merchant Services Iberia You will serve as a key link between finance and business, working closely with stakeholders in Sales, Operations, Product, Accounting, and Management.
Your role involves providing financial insights to sales managers and the other stakeholders and delivering business intelligence during monthly result analyses.
With a solid understanding of market trends, merchant growth, and consumer behavior, you'll effectively connect data to support informed decision-making.
Position is reporting to Finance Director MCS Enterprise Merchant Services Iberia, Italy and United Kingdom.
The role is based in our Madrid offices, hybrid mode (50% presence required).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Analyze key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth • Manage and develop comprehensive financial reports using Power BI/Power Query, transforming raw data into visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial goals are met and maintained.
• Production of weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and qualitative explanation of actual vs forecast vs budget variance • Driving the budgeting and forecasting processes • Interface with Group Controlling for queries and ad hoc analysis • Regular meetings with Business, Operations & Supply Chain, Product and Accounting and Treasury teams to discuss financial performance • Margin analysis by customer/project, cash costs & project monitoring • Advising on ways of improving business performance and monitoring of efficiency programs • Transverse projects including systems implementation and migration, business acquisitions & transformation • Providing costs optimization solutions without deterioration of productivity • Working close and collaborating with extended team and peers of Finance Operations & GBS Shared Services with "we can do" attitude and awareness and respect of different mind sets Who Are We Looking For People who can drive positive change, step up and show what's next - people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow.
In practice this means.
• University degree with a major in Finance or Controlling; Master's degree graduate from Top business school is a plus • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail • 4 years of relevant work experience in business controlling, financial analysis, or consulting in multinational environment • Payment industry experience is a plus • Ability to deal with large sets of data and to guide other team members in modelling exercises • You master the use of Excel & financial tools • Previous experience in SAP Nessie, PowerBI and/or Power Query is an advantage • You enjoy working in a fast paced and highly dynamic setting • You are result-oriented and focus on quality of delivery within a team • You are a great teammate, leading by example, with respect to other points of view and promoting powerful collaboration with other functions • Creative approach to problem solving • Enthusiastic, self-starting with a positive outlook • Solid written and verbal skills (fluent) in English and Spanish.
