DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

What you’ll do The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is a vital role within the Vodafone organization that values its compliance with data protection laws and safeguards personal data.
In this role you will ensure that the organization processes personal data of its employees, customers, providers, or any other individuals in compliance with applicable data protection rules.
Key Accountabilities.
Compliance and Legal Oversight  Monitor the organization’s compliance with data protection legal and regulatory framework, including GDPR and any other relevant legislation.
Implement the organization’s Privacy Framework.
Raise awareness and advise the organization and its employees about their obligations to comply with data protection laws.
Act as the organization’s point of contact with authorities and data subjects on all issues related to privacy.
Provide support to business functions on matters related to relevant privacy/security & IT regulations, (e.
.
Data Act, DSA, NIS2, etc.)  Develop and oversee the implementation of data protection policies and procedures within the organization.
Risk Management and Data Protection Impact Assessments   Identify and evaluate the company’s data processing activities.
Conduct and oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and ensure their outcomes are integrated into business practices in alignment with our Privacy by Design and Assurance activities.
Manage and mitigate data privacy risks and incidents, ensuring timely notification to authorities and response to data breaches.
Manage privacy operations for all Vodafone product & services (DPAs, Privacy Notices, DSRs, cookies & trackers).
Manage suppliers/ third parties compliance process (third party risk management) in scope of privacy matters.
Responsible AI  Identify and evaluate company’s AI initiatives.
Perform responsible AI assessments in compliance with Vodafone Group framework.
Support the organization’s AI Governance program.
Training and Awareness  Lead the development and delivery of training programs on data protection for employees across all levels of the organization.
Raise awareness of data privacy issues, risks, and requirements among staff.
Who you are Technical and Professional Skills  Strong understanding of data privacy principles and the ability to interpret complex legislation and guidance.
Proficient in developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.
Strong understanding of global privacy landscape in technology and online businesses.
Good understanding of telecommunications operations, data infrastructure, and technology ecosystems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Excellent command of English, and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
Education and Experience  Bachelor’s degree in Law, IT, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or professional certification in data protection or similar subject is also expected.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data protection, legal compliance, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and practices, including GDPR.
