DATA SCIENCE SPECIALIST

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data from various sources. Your work will involve using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights, develop predictive models, and contribute to data-driven strategies. You will use structured, unstructured and streaming data, and communicates clearly the results and implications of the data analysis and hypothesis driven approach to senior leaders, including productionising with product delivery teams.• Lead data science from ideation (hypothesis) to deployment, working with stakeholders across the aviation industry.• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large and complex data sets, such as flight data, weather data, air traffic data, Operational data and customer data etc.• Develop and maintain data pipelines, data models, dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision making.• Communicate insights and recommendations to internal and external audiences, using clear and compelling data visualizations and narratives.Key Responsibilities:Data Analysis and Machine Learning: Collect, clean, and analyze data, apply statistical techniques, and develop machine learning models for predictive analytics.Data Visualization and Communication: Create visualizations and reports using various tools to communicate insights and support decision-making.Predictive Modeling and Advanced Techniques: Build predictive models using time series, NLP, and other techniques for forecasting and optimization.Data Governance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure data privacy and quality, stay updated on AI/ML trends, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.Leadership and Problem-Solving: Lead and mentor junior data scientists, and apply expertise to solve complex data challenges while optimizing effort and value.Qualifications: & Experience- Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field.- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related role.- Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.- Experience with data visualization tools and libraries.- Knowledge of data manipulation, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data cleansing.- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.- 10+ years in the travel or aviation industry, specifically in Operations, Customer (Including Catering), Engineering & Maintenance or Commercial or a significant value delivered through your work.About you• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.• Curiosity and passion for learning new skills and technologies.• Able to operate in a fast paced, ambiguous environment driving value through structured thinking and hypothesis driven testing. • Able to be in new offices (BCN) – 2-3 days per week.• Comfortable communicating with senior executives• Energised to take on the most complex problems to solve• Passion for raising the standard and credibility of Data science within an organisation, and group of companies.• Leadership + Data science + AI + Aviation masteryFor this you will have:- Budget of 1.200€ in individual training for you to use it in whatever you want (technological events, books, trainings, certifications etc.).- Follow-up with your team every month for continuous feedback.- Telework 2 days a week.- Flexible hours to help you reconcile your professional / family life.- Private medical insurance fully paid by Capitole.- Flexible remuneration (restaurant tickets, transport and/or childcare).- Andjoy (Gymforless)- Discounts on major brands for employees (Club Capitole).To get to know Capitole!!- Team Buildings every two months - you can't miss the summer party or Christmas dinner!- Soccer team sponsored by Capitole.- Technological communities for you to share your knowledge and ideas with the other teams, sharing internal knowledge is essential!!!!- Last but not least a TEAM!
