DIGITAL WORKPLACE ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD

About the role As the Digital Workplace Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and architects focused on developing, managing, and supporting endpoints such as laptops, workstations, mobile devices, operating systems, and unified endpoint management (UEM) solutions.
This role is essential in delivering Digital Workplace products and ensuring that these solutions align with business goals while providing a seamless and secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities.
Team Leadership.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of approximately engineers and architects.
Foster an environment that promotes continuous development, collaboration, and innovation within the team.
Product Delivery.
Oversee the architecture, development, and delivery of endpoint and UEM solutions.
Ensure adherence to Swiss Re’s engineering best practices, including security, documentation, and operations.
Collaboration with Product Lead.
Work closely with the Product Lead to align on business goals, understanding the product strategy, and ensuring the workforce strategy guarantees product continuity and alignment with organizational goals.
Skills Development & Workforce Planning.
Identify the necessary skills and capabilities within the team to meet current and future objectives.
Provide training, development opportunities, and recruit new talent when needed.
Ensure effective workforce planning to allocate the right skills to the right tasks.
Performance Management.
Regularly assess individual and team performance, setting goals, providing feedback, and supporting ongoing personal and professional development.
Strategic Decision-Making.
Participate in the Digital Workplace Leadership team and contribute to decisions that impact the broader organization.
Drive improvements in the team’s processes and delivery efficiency.
Culture & Continuous Learning.
Co-create a culture that embraces diversity, encourages leadership at all levels, and fosters continuous learning and reflection.
Inspire innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and technologies in the digital workplace space.

About you To be successful as an Engineering Team Lead in this environment you need to have.
Leadership Experience.
Proven experience leading and managing technical teams, fostering a strong, collaborative, and motivating environment.
Technical Expertise.
Strong understanding of endpoint technologies, operating systems, UEM, and digital workplace products.
Able to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
Workforce Planning.
Ability to strategically plan and allocate resources effectively, ensuring the team meets business goals while fostering individual growth and development.
Communication Skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Agile Leadership.
A flexible leadership style, knowing when to act as a hands-on expert, mentor, or coach depending on the situation and team needs.
Continuous Learning.
Passion for continuous improvement and keeping up with emerging trends in technology.
