The Global Medical Affairs Lead for Neurodegeneration reports to the Senior Global Medical Affairs Lead Neurodegeneration and is accountable for strategic leadership and oversight of medical affairs strategy for Neurodegeneration pipeline asset, including Alzheimer Disease products.
Key Responsibilities Key focus for this role will be the pre-launch activities for Alzheimer Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and ALS pipeline assets.
Responsible for external engagement strategies including product and disease area global advisory boards, coordination of medical symposia and congress activities, pre-approval access plans, KOL and PAG engagement strategy, collaborative research groups and/or pre-competitive consortia, and coordination with regional activity in these areas.
Accountable for development and execution of high-quality medical affairs strategies that are cross-functionally aligned with world-wide partners across the Therapeutic Area for key assets Collaborate closely with Global R&D, Market Access and Commercial functions on regionally aligned strategies for differentiation and medical adoption of pre-launch assets Responsible for developing the Global Evidence Generation strategies for specific assets.
Accountable for design and conduct of Global Medical Affairs PH3b or PhIV studies, including appropriate staffing and management of budget.
Actively contribute to the overall governance and strategy of the Global Medical Affairs Neuroscience Therapeutic Area, including programs, people and budget.
Work with relevant Disease Area Leadership Teams (DALTs) and Senior Leaders across functions to give medical input into and shape global strategies for key assets in the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area to bring value to patients with best-in-class treatments.
Provide technical and strategic expertise to ensure consistent processes, excellence in planning and delivery of medical affairs strategies for differentiation and medical adoption of all assets.
Set performance goals for team and monitor results, ensuring timely performance reviews and performance feedback as needed.
Accountable for recruiting, retaining, and developing top Neuroscience talent.
International travel required.
Qualifications A minimum of an advanced degree (e.
.
MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH or other Masters level degree) required Experience in the neuroscience therapeutic area is preferred A minimum of 8 years of combined relevant experience in a medical/clinical environment and/or scientific function in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred Prior experience in Medical Affairs role for 2+ years is preferred Prior experience in a strategic external engagement role is required In country or regional launch experience for neurology drugs preferred Evidence generation experience preferred Experience in a people leadership role within a global multi-functional matrix organization preferred Strong track record of producing results in a matrix-based environment required Knowledge of the principles of translating scientific innovation into clinical practice Knowledge of the Neurology competitive landscape Strong collaboration skills, including influencing without authority and superb external networking Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build followership for ideas and innovations Demonstrated ability for strategic outside-in thinking Strong problem-solving skills for developing creative solutions and meeting matrix-team objectives Good oral/written communication skills, allowing effective interactions with all levels of the organization High degree of organization awareness and fluency with change management For more information on how we support the whole health of our employees throughout their wellness, career and life journey, please visit www.
