Job Title: Head of Information Architecture – R&D, Enterprise Information ArchitectureLocation: Barcelona, SpainSalary: €143,000About the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and visionary leader to take on the role of Head of Information Architecture for a global life-sciences organisation driving innovation in R&D. Based in Barcelona, this strategic position will shape the development and implementation of enterprise-wide information architecture, ensuring the organisation’s digital transformation goals are met. The role requires a balance of high-level strategy, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on delivery to create and optimise data frameworks that support the business' ambitious future goals.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive Information Architecture strategy tailored to the needs of R&D and enterprise-wide data initiatives.Lead and manage a team of direct reports while overseeing additional matrixed team structures to deliver on key objectives.Collaborate with senior stakeholders to design and deliver effective data architecture solutions, including metadata and master data management frameworks.Drive demand for IA services, develop investment cases, and implement operating models that ensure governance, compliance, and scalability.Build a strong data culture across the organisation, fostering collaboration, innovation, and alignment with business goals.Support regulatory and compliance requirements while leveraging data to advance scientific discovery and operational efficiency.What You Bring:Proven experience in data architecture, enterprise information architecture, and leadership roles, ideally within regulated industries or R&D-focused environments.Strong ability to navigate and influence complex, global stakeholder relationships across technical and business teams.A track record of successfully managing diverse, multi-location teams, including both direct reports and matrixed structures.Expertise in governance, data handling, and digital transformation projects, with the ability to link strategy to execution.Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership.Location and Benefits:This role is based in Barcelona, Spain, with potential for relocation support for the right candidate.The organisation offers competitive compensation and benefits, as well as a supportive, innovation-driven work environment.If you are passionate about leading transformative data strategies and driving impact through innovative information architecture, we invite you to apply and become a key contributor to our mission.
