is recruiting for an EHS Specialist, located in Schiphol-Rijk.
As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall safety of warehouse personnel, equipment, environment and operating according to EHS guidelines.
You will play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards, developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures, conducting safety training, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
Act as the owner of dangerous goods storage areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive safety program tailored to the specific needs of the warehouse facility.
Implement safety policies, standards, and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage.
Provide expert mentorship and advice to warehouse staff on safety matters, including safe handling of equipment, accurate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ergonomics.
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on standard methodologies and ensure their understanding and compliance.
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings, root causes, and recommendations for preventive measures.
Collaborate with management to develop and improve emergency response plans, including fire safety procedures, evacuation protocols, and first aid measures.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in safety regulations, recommending vital updates to the safety program as needed.
Actively participate in projects, safety and environmental, GMPs, SOPs trainings and others as needed and/or special activities that the company promotes to develop employee involvement and their professional development/growth.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or a related field (preferred).
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS.
Required.
Proven experience in warehouse safety or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced distribution environment.
In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards (e.
., PGS15, ARIE, ARBO).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective preventive measures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and partners at all levels.
Ability to deliver engaging safety training sessions and facilitate discussions on safety-related topics.
Detail-oriented attitude and strong problem-solving skills to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Proficiency in using safety management software and tools to track safety performance and generate reports.
OTHER.
Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English.
