What you'll do.
As the Financial Controller your understanding of the Finance Organization and its end-to-end process is vital.
An expert in standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement, you are responsible for managing financial documents such as balance sheets and bank accounts and aiding in ensuring compliance in global (GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP, SOX) and local accounting standards.
This is done through the placement of effective controls and guidelines achieving a high level of accuracy.
Every day is different, but below is a sample of what you will experience and expect to accomplish.
Prepare monthly financial accounts.
reconcile accounts / calculating and post accruals and prepayments / prepare month end closing pack and review P&L and balance sheet with Finance manager / maintaining spend schedules for cross-functional partners Manage accounts payable.
act as liaison between business and accounts payable team / review and approval of weekly payment runs / Monthly critical metrics review meetings with Accounts Payable team / Assist cross-functional partners with Purchase Order creation and other technical queries Maintain Internal and SOX controls.
maintain documentation and review of SOX and internal control processes / perform annual internal control efficiency testing and implementation of any remediation plans / coordinate and handle external and internal audits Prepare taxes.
prepare monthly VAT return and provide supporting documentation as required / assist in the preparation of the provisional and corporate income tax returns / assist with the preparation of withholding tax returns / assist with audits and annual corporate income tax submissions Process payroll.
post and reconcile the monthly payroll cost, working closely with local HR to define policies (f.
.
expense policy) Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements including US GAAP to statutory reconciliation for both WHOA, this is totally me! Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent A minimum of 3 years proficient knowledge on local (NL and/or BE) GAAP and US GAAP Excel and Google sheets skills, SAP proficiency is a strong plus Strong communicator in Dutch and English with ability to “speak up” and challenge commercial & marketing teams Analytical and pragmatic - we’re a very data and hands-on driven company What we offer you.
