GENETIC ANALYST

If you like professional challenges do not hesitate to join our growing company!JUNO Genetics-Spain is looking for a Genetic Analyst to join the team located in Valencia whose mission will be to provide a specialist clinical service in a reproductive genetics laboratory including the analysis of results of different test carried out in the laboratory, identification and precisely classification of variants/mutations detected through standard molecular genetic testing and participate in the maintenance of the clinical quality performance of the genetic laboratory.Main responsibilities:To combine clinical, genetic, population, and functional evidence to curate variants according to the guidelines (ex. ACMG) in our data base following established policies and procedures, in a professional manner.To analyse and interpret results (NGS, qPCR, MLPA) and approve results according to standard procedures.To evaluate and provide assessment of pathogenicity for detected DNA sequence variants and/or DNA Copy Number Variations (CNV).To communicate patients results and answer enquiries from health care professionals, providing information and explaining results, within departmental guidelines and according to the professional code of conduct.To assist in the maintenance of IQC and QC systems for the laboratory’s genetic tests.To assist, when required, in the preparation of documents for the laboratory’s Quality Management System, according to the standards of ISO15189.Position requirements:Academic training: BSc /MSc or equivalent in Biological Sciences.Languages: Fluent English.Experience: Previous experience in data interpretation (MLPA, NGS, etc) and variant curation preferred. Clinical laboratory experience in human genetics. Cross-disciplinary and strong analytical skills as well as broad experience using computational methods, databases, software and hardware.
