Head of Battery - EV - Barcelona - €90k to €150kRole: Head of BatterySalary: €90k to €150k + a very competitive relocation package (10% of your salary)Location: BarcelonaSector: Electric VehiclesI am seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Battery to join my clients global EV company. The ideal candidate will have a vast experience with Batteries and have experience in a leadership position driving innovation throughout a company.Responsibilities:Leading the design, engineering, and development of high-performance battery systems.Ensure integration of battery technology with overall vehicle architecture, focusing on efficiency, safety, and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to optimize battery performance.Drive innovation in battery technology, exploring new materials, chemistries, and configurations to enhance energy density, charging speed, and durability.Oversee the testing and validation of battery systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.Manage the battery development lifecycle from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, and mass production.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the battery engineering team.Develop and manage partnerships with battery suppliers and other external stakeholders.Monitor and analyse industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to keep the company at the forefront of battery innovation.Ensure that battery systems are designed for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all battery systems meet safety and quality standards.Report progress and challenges to senior management, providing strategic input on battery technology development and integration.Qualifications:Extensive experience in battery technology development, specifically for electric vehicles or similar applications.Strong understanding of battery chemistries, thermal management, and energy storage systems.Proven track record in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for battery systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.This role is critical in ensuring that the battery systems meet the high-performance demands of EVs while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
