Descripción The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education.
ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level.
Research is organized in the following main areas, Malaria and other Infectious Diseases, Maternal, Child and reproductive Health, Urban Health and Child and environmental health, Climate & Non-Communicable Diseases.

Lugar Barcelona, Campus Mar WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is seeking a Technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities in a project investigating molecular pathways, including genomics and epigenenomics, between diet composition and cardiometabolic diseases.
The post holder will work with Dr Camille Lassale, assistant research professor in the area of Non-Communicable Disease.
The project is supported by a Ramon y Cajal Fellowship RYC funded by MICIU/AEI // and the European Social Fund “Invest in your future”.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES The position will involve conducting genome-wide association studies and epigenome-wide association study (using DNA methylation arrays), in relation to various exposures including diet quality and specific diet features, such as chrono-nutrition, at various life stages.

Another important part of the role will be to use novel causal inference methods, making use of genetic data, to assess causality of the uncovered associations with cardiometabolic health.
The technician will work with large datasets from multiple sources, including consortium data.
The role requires collaboration with international project partners as well as researchers at ISGlobal.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Higher education in Bioinformatics or similar.
Knowledge of applied statistics.
Programming in R  Experience with version-control systems (git/GitHub) Experience with genomics or epigenomics analysis Excellent organizational skills and comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team.
Professional attitude and excellent attention to detail.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Good communication skills both written and spoken.
Good level of English (written and spoken).

Learning capacity and motivation to learn epidemiology.
Excellent organization skills.

SELECTION PROCESS The selection process is designed in two phases.
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation.

2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview.
