Be part of an elite team, whose principals have launched multiple successful platforms across financial services and are proven innovators.Your role:The Lending Internship offers you in-depth insight and hands-on experience assisting the Case Management Team in the project management of new loan applications and active loans. You will be working across multiple disciplines, such as managing the relationship with the SME, performing due diligence on financial accounts, managing the legal documentation process, visiting and evaluating the security assets, carrying out background checks on prospective clients, analysing corporate structures for compliance with AML and KYC regulations. Additionally, you will be working closely with the Underwriting Team to assess risk and structure transactions.You will work with both the Underwriting and Originating Teams (often across the different jurisdictions in which we operate in) to make sure that we collect and analyse accurate and appropriate information.Furthermore, from time to time, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in other departments by taking on tasks from other teams, such as Finance, Portfolio Management and Operations.We actively invest in the training, coaching and career progression of our Lending Interns.The internship is paid and full-time for six months. It is ideal for a recent graduate looking for their first job in finance.Specific responsibilities:Your main responsibility is to assist on the project management of loan applications, which includes:Demonstrating and documenting your understanding of each case to assist Case Managers and Underwriters in assessing and approving loan applications. This includes conducting financial analysis on loan applicants and their business case;Performing Anti-Money-Laundering (AML), Know-Your-Customer (KYC), bankruptcy and fraud checks;Being in daily contact with loan applicants, brokers and all other parties involved in the loan application process;Assisting the Portfolio Management Team (including risk reviews, reviewing monitoring covenants, processing drawdowns and full and partial redemptions);Conducting market research;Attend client and property site visits;Instructing and liaising with our valuers;Instructing and liaising with our solicitors;Close cooperation with the Underwriters and Originators;Assisting with PR and marketing.About you:Academic degree (bachelors/master) with excellent track record;Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Spanish;Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions in an international environment;Good numerical skills and proficiency with Excel;Outstanding organisational skills;You are critical, pragmatic, proactive: a hands-on problem solver with can-do attitude;Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines;Team player;Hungry to learn and push your boundaries in a growing company.What you get:Being part of a dynamic internationally-focussed finance company;Working in a young and international team (over 15 nationalities and 21 languages);Extensive experience and exposure: whilst we are a young and dynamic company you will be working together with people with impressive industry experience;The opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding company as well as the development of new products and exploring new markets;An opportunity to accelerate your career by assuming a lot of responsibility in a meritocratic environment with little hierarchy and good intra-company career perspectives; andCompetitive salary.
