Job Summary：  This is an unpaid internship through the Hiring Our Heroes SkillBridge program.
The Material Flow Supervisor Intern will help lead and coordinate daily material flow activities at the site to ensure production needs.
Supports any materials operation functions from receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping.
The material flow supervisor is responsible for providing materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services, and supervising staff.
This is a safety sensitive role.

This position has been designated as On-Site.
What you will do.
Utilization of project management skills to implement lean management efforts to increase velocity and minimize inventory levels.
Creates/establishes and owns/operates the action plans, countermeasures, and other critical logistics reports.
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Manages wooden or cardboard container pack out areas or selects preassembled containers.
Accurately completes records, logs, manifests, time sheets and other pertinent documentation to support the job function.
Manage relationship with logistics providers and any 3PL shipping providers on or off site.
Develop warehouse operation’s systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, and creates processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintain logistics staffing job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Continuous development, implementation, enforcement, and evaluation of policies and procedures.
Create material flow design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating, and recommending new equipment.
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Safeguard material operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
Maintain physical condition of warehouse and docks by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
What you will bring.
Bachelor’s degree.
Eligible and enrolled in the SkillBridge Hiring Our Heroes upcoming cohort.
Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
Experience with visual management systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other inventory control/shipping software.
In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement, and distribution).
Be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.
