OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MINING SUPERVISOR

Our company is a multinational manufacturer of energy products for mining and civil engineering. We are looking for an Occupational Health & Safety Supervisor to join our HSEQS corporate team. This position will report to the Occcupational Health &Safety Manager. Job Purpose Summary:Effective deployment of Occupational Health & Safety Policies, basic’s and standards, complying with contractual, statutory and regulatory applicable requirements to company mining operations activities, in order to eliminate, reduce or control hazards and risks, especially those related to major hazards. The scope of the position includes MINING OPERATION activities worldwide, including bulk plants on mining sites, focused on the following disciplines: Mining operations and process safety; Hygiene and PPE management; Ergonomics & Psychosocial risks; Health management, in coordination with Medicine surveillance experts.The role shall be deployed in tight coordination ensuring the local procedures include all the legal requirements and company standards, supporting on site according to specific needs, and carrying out audits and inspections to ensure compliance.Duties and Responsibilities:Inspections, audits, risk assessments management in order to identify any gap/room for improvement between legal requirements/standards/best practices, being responsible of developing and implementing any action plan at company level.Reporting on OHS indicators, leading and lagging, including: Collect information from the Mining Projects & workplaces, Perform trend analysis on the main KPIs and issues, Prepare monthly summary of status and follow-it Guaranteeing that OHS area of responsibility inside Mining Operations is fulfilling legal requirements, company management system as well as good practices.In tight coordination with the Mining Operational Managers (both, Open Pit and Underground) and the HSEQS Management and HSEQS teams, ensuring all the local procedures include all the legal requirements and Company´s standards, and carry out audits and inspections.To identify, maintain and update the required awareness, competency, skills and training of the employees in regard with its functions, roles and responsibilities, especially those related to explosives handling, manufacturing, transport and use, including HSEQS teams.Concerning tenders and new projects, to provide relevant information, and ensure risk assessment reports are carried out, collaborating during Contract definition, project definition, and the Commissioning & Hand over process. Drives the implementation of Industrial safety & Process in Mining Operations sites and bulk plants. Coordinate with R&D and Engineering departments during new project to ensure that process safety hazards are adequately assess and control. Lead the PHA.Requirements: Degree in Chemical, Industrial, Oil & Gas or Mining, Engineering.Master’s degree in Health & Safety.At least 8 years of experience in Health & Safety Management responsibility at company level inside matrix organizations covering chemical, oil and gas, mining, or other industrial multinational companies, as well as other companies related to the explosives sector.At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or operations in mining environmentDemonstrated Experience on Occupational Health & Safety, including Industrial & Process Safety; Industrial hygiene; Ergonomics & Psychosocial risks; Health surveillance.Expert on accident and incident analysis, problem solving.Demonstrated audit and inspection capacity.Technical knowledge.IT skills (advance user of IT applications, excel, word, power point)Fluent in Spanish and English, other languages are valued.
