Despite the unstable or remote settings in which we work, MSF provides the appropriate international and local human resources to ensure the provision of high-quality care for patients.
Tasks & Duties Organise, carry out and supervise orthopaedic surgery activities in close collaboration with medical and paramedical team in the emergency, intensive wards and operation theatre Ensuring pre- and post-operative surgical care, in accordance with MSF procedures, protocols and universal hygiene standards in order to improve patients’ health conditions Collaborate with the anaesthetist in the collection of quantitative surgical and anaesthetist data and check the quality of the data encoding Provide ongoing guidance and training to the surgical team in line with MSF guidelines and protocols Participate in medical meetings Minimum requirements Medical doctor degree Residency in Orthopaedics, specialisation in orthopaedic surgery 2 years of professional clinical experience English fluency Advanced computer literacy Availability for a minimum 2 months period Desirable requirements Previous experience in trauma and/or war surgery Professional experience supervising, managing or training staff Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and/or Arabic Previous international experience with INGOs, UN agencies, other humanitarian organisations, charities, etc.

Field workers will be fully informed of the risk associated with a potential mission before accepting a particular posting.

Once in the mission, all MSF staff must strictly observe security rules and regulations; failure to do so may result in dismissal.
