POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

The project aims at finding the most effective combination of myelin protectors and boosters that can halt multiple sclerosis progression in advanced animal models of disease.
To that end, we exploit the neurotransmitter signaling machinery of oligodendrocytes and myelin together with drugs that promote myelin lipid catabolism and myelin-derived fatty acid synthesis.
Through cutting-edge techniques (super-resolution imaging, 2-photon microscopy, electrophysiology and in vivo imaging), you will investigate demyelination and remyelination.
The ideal candidate is a determined and creative individual with a PhD in biomedicine, neuroscience or related fields.
Previous experience in electrophysiology and imaging, coupled with a background in neuroscience is recommended.
The ability to thrive in an international and competitive research environment is essential.

The position is funded by the Maratoia-Multiple Sclerosis initiative dedicated to supporting research biomedical research.
Our laboratory adopts an integrative experimental approach, combining molecular, imaging and electrophysiological techniques in both in vitro and in vivo models of multiple sclerosis.
