Company Summary:Recurrent Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and is one of the world's largest and most geographically diversified utility-scale solar and energy storage project development, ownership and O&M platforms. Recurrent Energy is focused on bringing low-cost clean energy and meaningful economic development to communities across the globe.With a strong track record of originating, developing, financing, and building nearly 9 GWp of solar and 3 GWh of battery storage power plants across six continents, Recurrent Energy has established a leadership position in both solar and battery storage project development. With a total pipeline of 25 GWp in solar and 47 GWh in battery storage, of which 14 GW and 12 GWh respectively already have interconnections (as of January 31, 2023). In addition, Recurrent Energy’s services business has 6 GW of projects under operations and maintenance contracts, either operational or contracted projects.Job summary:This role is key to forecast revenues for our current pipeline in the EMEA region (Solar PV and BESS), as well as upcoming project opportunities. Analytical skills, deep understanding on energy and power markets, and related regulation for these technologies and the power market operation is necessary to perform these activities. Also, monitoring the evolution of spot and futures markets, ancillary services markets, as well as fundamentals, will be part of day-to-day tasks.Main responsibilities:Forecast revenues for BESS and Solar PV projects in EMEA: Analyse the regulation around offtake solutions, power markets, and forecast potential revenues for projects under assessment, both in the short-term and long-term.Monitor energy and power market dynamics in Europe: Monitor the evolution of the energy commodities and power markets globally and in the European region to make strategic decisions on our uncontracted revenues in our operational portfolio.Energy risk management: Run simulations with our ERTM tool to provide conclusions on strategic decisions for our construction and operational portfolio in EMEA.Functional competencies:Strong analytical and process management skills.Structured, ordered, and accurate working standards.Strong understanding of the European power markets. Excellent teamwork, communication, and intercultural skills.Excellent use of MS Office tools.Programming skills with Python or Matlab is a plus.Self-driven and proactive attitude with initiative to take on challenges.Job requirements:at least 1 year of experience as energy analyst, power market operator, or similar positions in the power market and renewable energy industry.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Economics/Finance.A specialized master’s degree in Renewables or Power Markets is a plus.Fluent in English.Spanish and Italian will be a plus.Travel may be required from time to time.
