OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES.
Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES.
Performs testing, inspection and measurement of products at various stages of the production process in accordance with documented procedures.
Records detailed documentation of test results and quality observations.
Prepares detailed reports on the results of testing, evaluation and analysis.
Diagnoses, and verifies product originally not meeting specifications.
Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment, of minimal to moderate complexity as prescribed by Manufacturing specifications.
Ability to operate CMM Working knowledge of GD&T and blue print interpretation Ability and willingness to communicate effectively within department.
Basic understanding of calibration practices Basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite General Supervision (Supervisor/shift lead) Works independently on routine tasks Identifies process improvement.
Performs First Article Inspection Supports Internal Audits for QA Inspection Understanding and Applicaton of ASTM'S Assist in coordination of launch activities as required Generates NCs as required Perform Gage R&R with direction.
Provides effective feedback on Inspection Techniques.
Review and suggests necessary changes to gauging methodologies Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
Comply with company policies and procedures including those relating to safety and quality.
Be familiar and adhere to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.
Immediately inform supervisors If there are any violations, deviations or hazards present related to health, safety or environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS.
The Quality Technician II will perform inspections of machined components, electrical assemblies and receiving inspection, validations, and process improvement activities.
The candidate will perform mechanical inspection on open set-up inspections utilizing a variety of inspection equipment and visual standards.
The Quality Technician will utilize GD&T and blue print reading skills daily.
Qualifications.
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3-4 year of inspection experience in a precision machining and medical device inspection environment preferred.
Blue print interpretation skills and a working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and tolerance applications required.
Working knowledge of various applications of shop mathematics is preferred.
Working knowledge of CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) inspection and programming is a plus.
CMM experience on Zeiss is a plus.
Excellent written, oral communication, organization and computer skills will be needed.
ASQ Certification is a plus.
Optical Comparators experience is required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3-4 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ASQ-CQI Certification preferred OTHER REQUIREMENTS.

Specific vision abilities sometimes used in this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
