What you will do! Support the production team with quality assurance tasks (final eye tasks, sanity checks…) Perform rigorous quality control checks on translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of translated content by performing a non-linguistic revision, also to ensure adherence to client-specific guidelines Ensure that the deliverables meet the company’s quality standards and the client’s requirements It is a crucial role to ensure that we will deliver high quality translations/content/translated materials to the client Review and verify the formatting, layout, titles, key points, numbers and key terminology Identify and fix non-linguistic issues Support the team with quality concerns and questions Liaise between production team and Quality team and act as a bridge between these two teams, identifying patterns, common issues, solutions and training gaps Schedule trainings and workshops for the production team to ensure compliance with quality standards Support trainers during PM training revising project details and completing quality assurance tasks Proactively contribute to quality initiatives Own and coordinate the tasks related to various initiatives and projects at business level  Own the process of Project Quality Assurance and continuously seek areas for improvement Pre-QA Read project instructions Check Style Guide, client instructions and any other specific instructions Check the Quality Assurance report (numbers, glossary, target consistency issues) and comments from the linguists.
Revision/Scan of the document Ensure Paragraph marker is on Check that no comments appear in the target document (unless these match the source) Correct language setting is uses in all the text All text is translated (dead images, graphs or formulas) (If there is no translated text, please flag it to the PM as soon as possible so it can be checked with the linguists) No hidden text (extra careful with header, footers and text boxes) Table of contents is updated and properly linked Add footer as per client instructions/type of text/content All links are working and updated Acronyms, logos and specific terminology is consistent within the file Proper names are spelled correctly and match the source Numbers/dates are correct and follow the style guide/instructions Check that there is no missing or additional text (by the length of the sentences and punctuation) Punctuation of units of measurement are converted properly and consistent.
Correct pagination and automatic fields (if any) Formatting matches source.
Font and styles, bold, italics, size, color, etc.
Capitalization matches source where necessary No repeated words, punctuation or letters Justification, alignment, line/paragraph/characters spacing, bullet list style Tables and cells (no text is hidden or cut off) Page layout and margins match source Text boxes (all text is visible) Images and screenshots (if any) Edits should be done with the Tracked Change on.
If there are comments for the linguists, please leave a comment and inform the PM so the files can be sent back to the linguists and the comments checked.
Final version/Post QA Unnecessary comments and tracked changes should be cleared out.
File should be renamed accordingly (SOURCE NAME_eng).
IF the project was done in memoQ, changes done in the target files should be implemented in memoQ too.
