The role demands a high level of expertise in incident response, security operations, and threat intelligence, along with a proactive approach to improving the organization’s overall security posture.• Providing first-line response and initial management of any new or developing IT security related issues: as Response & Operation Support Senior Analyst you will work with existing skilled IT Security staff, responding to cyber security threats in as near real-time as possible. An up to date understanding of relevant IT networks, security standards, authentication protocols, and security related hardware and software within the organisation is vital.• IT Security – Day to day tasks: your role may involve day-to-day IT Security management, gouvernance and administration activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the security to issues in all IT security related systems. Using a specialist suite of IT Security monitoring tools and techniques, your role will see you providing a rapid and effective initial response as threats emerge. Reporting to senior IT management would be required during incidents caused by network intrusions and/or hacking attempts.• IT Security procedures, change management, training and support: you will likely be responsible for developing a set of procedures to be used during various types of IT Security events and incidents. Development and implementation of new corporate security policies may be necessary along with staff training relating to cyber security threats.• Gap assessments, testing and IT security fixes, tools and countermeasures: you will likely be involved in gap assessments, upgrade paths, bug fixes and necessary workarounds for new IT Security issues. Threat countermeasures using IT security tools and other rapid threat responses will be part of the job.Would you like to be part of our internal team? 😊Here are the main functions you could perform:Provide incident response services to the global organization on behalf of the Information Security TeamReceive, process, and resolve tickets per defined SLA's.Analyse information garnered from monitoring systems, operational incidents, and other sources to determine the scope and impact of potential security incidents, and process accordinglyCritically assess current practices and provide feedback to management on improvement opportunitiesAssist with the design and implementation of threat detection and prevention solutions identified as necessary for the protection of the assetsEffectively utilize common IR toolsets, platforms, and processes, such as Splunk, log management, packet capture, and breach detection systemsProvide assistance with forensic examinations and chain -of-custody procedures as directed by the CSIRTProvide input into standards and proceduresReport compliance failures to management for immediate remediationMaintain assigned systems to ensure availability, reliability, integrity, including the oversight of current and projected capacity, performance, and licensingProvide status reports and relevant metrics to the IT Security teamContribute to the company’s security-related information repositories and other marketing/awareness endeavoursParticipate in special projects as neededGuide, train, and support team members to ensure the efficient and professional resolution of reported tasksEstablish and track KPIs, while beingWe're sure that if this suits you, you'll have this profile:ExperienceBachelor's Degree and above or equivalent experience in investigative or analytical role5+ years of relevant experience in investigative or analytical rolesWork with cross-functional teams to drive improvements to policies and processes across teamsDeep understanding of security threats, vulnerabilities, and incident response.Technical SkillsApplied knowledge of IR concepts and best practices, including forensics and chain-of-custodyBroad familiarity with the threat landscape and the ability to adapt practices to evolving circumstancesFamiliarity with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with experience ensuring adherence to these standardsExperience with common IR tools such as SIEM, log management, IDS, breach detection systems (APT/BDS/EDR), and packet captureStrong background in configuring and managing security technologies including firewalls, DLP systems, and network security solutions.Broad understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, common network services, and other foundational topicsGood knowledge of malware detection, analysis, and evasion techniquesKnowledge of cloud security principles and experience with securing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).Ability to gather and analyse facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutionsMaintain critical thinking and composure under pressureProven experience in documenting security events and incidents, maintaining detailed records, and preparing comprehensive reports for management and other stakeholders.Soft SkillsStrong written and oral communication skills.
