There’s always a buzz in the office about the latest ways we’ve gone the extra mile.PURPOSE: Abercrombie & Kent Spain and Portugal is looking for a Sales Travel Consultant to join their wonderful team in this exciting city. This roles will be responsible for the successful sale/operation of business for FIT tours and Groups. Success will be measured on achieving and exceeding set budgets and targets. RESPONSIBILITIES: To sale/operate tailor-made FIT/Groups programmesMeet or exceed set and agreed budgets and targets.To negotiate better hotel rates when neededTo cost each programme accurately, competitively and to the required level of quality within the agreed time frame whilst maintaining creativity.To follow up on all new business quoted until a definitive result is obtained.On confirmation, ensure the file is accurate.To actively investigate new products/marketing opportunities to achieve greater sales to existing and new clients.To check, when requested, costings and itinerary content of programmes which have been set up by other team members.To maintain professional relationships with all suppliers, tour directors, colleagues, and clients at all times, including face-to-face sales and operations meetings.FinancialTo assist the Accounts Department with invoice queries as they ariseTo enter financial data onto the system in a timely and accurate mannerTo ensure that correct funds are received from a client by the agreed datesGeneralGeneral office duties such as answering telephone etc.To conduct special projects as requested by the Manager/SupervisorProvide guidance and assistance to members of staff in other European A&K DMC locations.ABOUT YOU:Excellent (preferably native) command of Spanish.Excellent command of the English language, spoken and written, including creative writing.Knowledge of the Portuguese language would be beneficial.Experience in the travel industry, ideally in the luxury sector.Experience in handling groups or even incentives as well as FITs will be an advantageNumerate, accurate/detailed and dedicatedResults and sales drivenHardworking and independentExcellent knowledge of Spain & PortugalExcellent team playerIf you would like to learn more about the position or apply, please send your CV, salary expectations and cover letter to: sprecruitment@europe.abercrombiekent.com.Please note that ALL interviews will be conducted in English, and/or Portuguese if relevant.Why work for A&KWhat makes A&K a great place to work is the people.
