The organization.
THYTECH is a spin-off of the “Gregorio Marañón” Health Research Institute in Madrid (IISGM) that was created with the aim of translating our thyTreg platform for the benefit of patients suffering from autoimmune diseases and the consequences of transplant.
Our first-in-class thyTreg™ therapies use regulatory T cells purified from their natural source, the thymus.
Highly stable and potent cell therapies can be generated from these thyTreg™ cells for the treatment and prevention of serious imbalances of the immune system that underly many acute and chronic conditions and diseases.
The opportunity.
THYTECH is seeking a Scientist position to lead/conduct projects on thyTreg™ platform validation, including phenotypic and functional characterization, pre-clinical development manufacturing, and tech transfer.
Responsabilities include.
Experimental design of in vitro experiments Conducting in vitro immunological, metabolic and molecular assays Data analysis and critical interpretation Preparation of professional data presentation for scientific meetings and intellectual property protection Integration and scientific discussion with the lab team Conducting process development work Assist and supervise the tech transfer between THYTECH and CDMO Assist in grant preparation, preclinical documentation, budget control and scientific and business meetings Qualifications.
We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and dynamic scientist with a PhD and 1-2 year Postdoc experiece in immunology or cell therapy and proven track record of success and experience preparing scientific publications, scientific projects and oral presentations to broad and diverse audiences.
Industry expertise would be beneficial.
Requirements include.
Strong knowledge and technical skills in immunology Extensive experience in studying T cells, Tregs preferably Strong hands-on skills in immunological methods including cell culture, immune cell isolation (MACS and automated sorting), multi-color flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA assays, MLR assays Independence, leadership and technical troubleshooting Excellent organizational and communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team Previous experience with process development of cell therapies using G-Rex reactors (or others), CliniMACS-Plus/Prodigy, control rate freezer and/or fill & finish equipments will be considered a plus In vivo expertise in animal models will be valued We offer.
An open-ended research contract (with an initial 6-month appraisal period) Starting date.
