SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST

We are growing our data science team to help Tendam solve challenging problems from the retail fashion industry. We are now seeking a Sr. Data Scientist for a unique opportunity to impact the way the world experiences fashion.What will you do? Extract valuable insights from data as well as from cross-functional teams, including e-commerce, logistics, marketing, and others, to gain a comprehensive understanding of business opportunities. Collaborate closely with these departments to align data-driven insights with strategic decisions, identifying key areas for growth, optimization and innovationLead and mentor a team of junior data scientists, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and tools. Foster a collaborative environment where team members can develop their technical skills, contribute to projects, and continuously improve their problem-solving abilitiesGenerate insights using statistical techniques and machine learning models that transform raw data into actionable levers for change. This includes collaborating with engineering and IT teams to integrate models into existing systems, establishing monitoring and maintenance protocols, and ensuring the models operate efficiently under various conditions. Additionally, focus on optimizing models for performance, implementing version control, and ensuring compliance with best practices in data governance and security.What are we looking for? Proficient in writing and optimizing Spark jobs for performance, and scalable data processing.In-depth knowledge of a wide range of machine learning techniques, including both supervised and unsupervised learning methods. Experienced in applying algorithms such as regression, classification, decision trees, and ensemble methods for supervised learning, as well as clustering, dimensionality reduction, and anomaly detection for unsupervised learningProficient in selecting, implementing, and fine-tuning the appropriate models based on specific business needs and dataset characteristics, ensuring accurate and meaningful predictions.Experience with AWS tool stack, such as Athena, EMR, Sagemaker, Lambda. Skilled in leveraging these tools to develop scalable, efficient, and cost-effective data and machine learning solutionsDemonstrated proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write complex queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Experience in working with structured data to help the Data Engineering team with quality and consistency across projectsHighly skilled in using data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik to create clear, impactful visualizations.
