In its 20 years, the platform has become the leader in the Spanish online gaming market and has also firmly established itself in Latin America and Europe.The ALIRA platform serves as intermediation software, connecting game providers with intermediaries in the gaming and sports betting industry. This Java-based platform utilizes REST protocol for seamless communication between providers and ALIRA, enabling bidirectional data exchange.The platform also features a content management system (CMS) for the integration of provider games into operator websites, adapting them to match each operator's visual style.The RoleThe Database Engineer (MySQL) role carries the pivotal responsibility of overseeing and preserving the integrity and performance of the company's intricate database systems. This multifaceted role encompasses a spectrum of critical tasks, including the establishment and maintenance of high availability infrastructure, meticulous database replication management, robust backup and recovery procedures, precise performance optimization, astute capacity planning, vigilant monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.As a Database Engineer within our organization, you will play an integral role in ensuring the reliability, resilience, and efficiency of our database infrastructure. Your contributions will be central to the seamless functioning of our application data ecosystems, enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality services to our clients and stakeholders.This role stands as a linchpin in our technology landscape, requiring a blend of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and diligent documentation practices to maintain the health and vitality of our database systems.Requirements:3+ years of experience in MySQL database administration, with a preference for experience in i-Gaming or e-Commerce industries.Deep expertise in MySQL, including version 8.0, with a strong focus on Master/Slave replications, MyISAM, and InnoDB storage engines.Proficiency in SQL, including the use of stored procedures, triggers, events, and understanding of MySQL locks to maintain performance, partitioning.Experience with database backup and recovery using and native MySQL tools and snapshots.Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Munin, Grafana, Kibana, Dynatrace, and native MySQL monitoring tools.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.Proficiency in data security, integrity, and documentation practices.Spanish speaking candidate is preferable.ResponsibilitiesConstruct and uphold database systems characterized by superior availability and quality, tailored to the specific requirements of individual applications.Devise and execute database designs in alignment with the information needs and different perspectivesDefine user profiles and facilitate the dissemination of data to the appropriate recipients in a suitable format and with promptness.Configure diverse database replication strategies to ensure seamless data synchronization.Utilize high-speed transaction recovery methods and proficiently manage data backups.Efficiently mitigate database downtime while optimizing parameters for swift query response times.Facilitate the transfer of knowledge within the team to foster collective expertise.Provide proactive and reactive support for data management, ensuring data security, privacy, and integrity.Establish, enforce, and meticulously document database policies, procedures, and standards.Regularly conduct tests and evaluations to safeguard data security and maintain data integrity.Vigilantly monitor database performance, implement necessary modifications, and apply updates and patches as required.Stay well-informed about emerging database technologies.Generate on-demand reports as requested by business users.Offer 24x7 support for critical production systems, participating in an on-call rotation schedule when necessaryMetrics & KPIs● Financial○ Own and deliver projects against defined budgets○ Plan and develop cost-efficient solutions○ Cost and resource optimisation● Technical○ Constant improvement of product quality○ Improvement in deployments and time to market○ Mean time to recovery○ Improvement in the deployment success rate● Non-Technical○ Incident response time○ Increase in feedback loopsWhy this position:At Intellias, where technology takes center stage, people always come before processes.
