Senior Informatics Scientist, Scientific Tools and Solutions   Barcelona   Competitive Salary + Benefits       Introduction to role     As a Senior Informatics Scientist within Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI), based at our growing Barcelona site, you will be developing software for both one-time analysis and robust, widely used scientific tools and systems.
Applying strong skills in computer science and software development, you will work with colleagues in DS&AI, across R&D and beyond to transform patients’ lives by accelerat ing the discovery and development of new therapeutics and develop ing new technologies.
Typical Accountabilities   Develop software for both one-time analysis and robust, widely used scientific tools.
Model data & processes and architect systems to ensure, by design, any systems built are fit for purpose, usable, maintainable and manageable.
Using computational skills to deliver new insights on existing data.
Build effective relationships with an established range of stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of software and analyses.
Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations.
Proactively gather feedback.
M astering new technology and scientific thinking and applying it to deliver results.
Essential Skills/Experience.
Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent number of years of experience in computer science or software development.
Full stack software development skills, databases, Java server - side development, and web frontend development.
Demonstrable ability to create high quality software and solve real world problems.
Scientifically literate.
Able to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly.
Ability to develop new algorithms /computational approaches as part of a wider project.
Thoroughness and tenacity in solving problems.
Desirable.
Experience integrating and tuning AI models in tools to enable human decisions is an advantage.
Experience working in the pharma/biotech industry is an advantage.
Experience communicating effectively with technical and scientific colleagues alike, in formal presentations and small group meetings.
