GENERAL CONTEXT Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organization, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE  The overall objective is to promote, monitor and support the implementation of simulation programmes to support operations and to contribute to a better implementation of MSF humanitarian action.
The focus will be in the use of simulation.
for system & processes-focused simulation as part of quality improvement processes, and the use of simulation for embed good practices (learning).
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES The main objectives of this position will be to continue.
Capacity building activities in simulation methodology.
Embed simulation in MSF humanitarian action (MSF ecosystems) to contribute to the reflection, improvement, and innovation of its medical-humanitarian activities.
Continuous innovate the use of simulation in and for MSF for the benefit of individuals, teams, and the organization itself.
The areas that will be prioritized are the following.
Security Management Scenario Building Emergency Response (including needs assessments, emergency preparedness and response planning) Humanitarian Negotiations.
People centred approach More in general, supporting roll-outs of different models in missions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Responsibilities link to Capacity building in simulation (jointly with other simulation referents from other dpts) Lead, coordinate and implement progressive and continuous building simulation capacity and expertise in the OPs department _Cell-member and MST/MIOs, field staff, through online and F2F solutions, and support them when implementing simulation activities and programs.
Jointly with the simulation referent from MED dpt, ensures and monitor that  deployment plans to missions to create capacity in simulation  (training mission facilitators and establish simulation programs) follows the established  goals, procedures and standards.
Together with Ops LD referent, ensures preparation and support to pool of MIO simulations through the provision of ongoing capacity building and coaching.
Develop/Coordinate and validate the development of simulation solutions and scenarios packages (by recruiting SMEs when needed) to support the training needs and system processes  improvement processes in operation activities Final content validation will be provided by key stakeholders/advisors.
Participate in the development and implementation of capacity building activities in simulation (trainings, remote support, mentoring/coaching, virtual sessions & knowledge transfer activities), jointly with the other simulation referents.
Implements/ supports monitoring and reporting the capacity building activities on simulation jointly with the other simulation referents.
Keep up-to-date with simulation initiatives and developments; develop/update/keep alive simulation tools, guidance and the online sites /platforms with the other simulation referents form the other departments.
Responsibilities link to embed simulation in MSF ecosystem  Seeking coherence and consistency of the use of simulation with MSF OCBA Strategic Plan and Operational Priorities  To participates in activities organized by the Ops dpts, including weekly, monthly and process revision meetings, as in other ad hoc relevant forums, providing proposals to enhance operational activities and to support the medical humanitarian action by using simulation.
Participates in the strategic and annual planning discussion of departments Guide and support missions/ projects/referents in the needs analysis and deployment activities to integrate Simulation methodology to provide continuous support to operations objectives, initiatives and activities..
Collaborate with other OCBA or OCs simulation referents on transversal projects related to simulation Facilitate a relationship of collaboration with intersectional partners, exploring coordination and synergies on simulation programs and solutions for mutualization of resources.
Embed simulation for system-processes improvement and good practices (learning) Identifies with stakeholders (field; HQ OPS; medical department) gaps,  needs and opportunities for use of simulation for improving system & processes in operations activities (prioritising, but not limited to.
scenario building, humanitarian negotiations, and needs assessments) Develops and consolidates strategies on how to continuously integrate simulation into updated initiatives/tools to contribute to system and process improvement (prioritising, but not limited to.
scenario building, humanitarian negotiations, and needs assessments).
Supervise and support the implementation of simulation tools and strategies of simulation programs for improving system-processes improvement in selected OCBA sites in close collaboration with the other simulation referents.
Participate in identifying gaps, in coordination with OPS learning referent, in which learning strategies simulation could have an added value for embedding good practices, considering the main strategic orientations of MSF OCBA.
Coordinates with specific referents, field teams and OPS learning referents the planning, organisation and deployment of resources (e.
.
MIO Sim Secu) for the simulation programs.
Supervise and support the implementation of simulation tools and strategies of simulation programs for embedding good practices in selected OCBA sites in close collaboration with the other simulation referents and OPS learning manager.
Responsibilities link to innovative use of simulation in and for MSF  Identifies with stakeholders needs and opportunities for using simulation to overcome operational challenges and to support our medical humanitarian action.
Support the communication and change management activities to promote the benefits of simulation, experiences sharing among the different pilots implemented in different projects, reports sharing, etc… Ensures knowledge capitalization & dissemination  (Operational Research) Link with Knowledge Management activities as simulation is a good methodology to recap lesson learned and define news ways of doing things Establishes Partnerships and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders about innovative modalities of simulation that can be adapted to MSF This JP can be adjusted to the profile of the person chosen and the priorities agreed with Ops Dept.
SELECTION CRITERIA  Education and experience  Mandatory experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring simulation programs in academic and/or professional settings for more than one year, and  Mandatory Qualified simulation training or Certification from a recognized academic institute.
Mandatory field experience in MSF or another humanitarian organisation for at least three years, with a minimum of one year in a senior management (coordination) position in MSF, having been responsible for/involved in humanitarian negotiations, security management, and emergency response.
We are looking for polyvalent profiles and candidates with medical profiles are also encouraged to apply.
English and French compulsory (Spanish, Portuguese and/or Arabic are an asset).
Additional experience in using simulation for quality improvement and safety processes.
Experience on developing and facilitating learning programs/activities and / or carrying out similar tasks described above and willingness to provide hands-on support to the field.

Final location will be subject to the employability of the preselected candidate (residency, work permit, etc.).
