Company DescriptionOmmatidia LIDAR is a company pioneering the development of a new architecture for 3D Optical Metrology and Ranging. Our biomimetic sensor is able to combine broad-beamed continuous illumination with sensitivity to individual photons, unlocking new levels of performance in terms of the combination of range and resolution. We are located in Madrid and offer a dynamic and innovative work environment.Job purposeThe purpose of this software engineering role is to design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge software for a next-generation automotive lidar project, in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment. The software engineer will work closely with the hardware team, computer vision experts and other stakeholders to create and implement innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what is currently possible in the field of lidar technology for autonomous vehicles. The engineer will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements and to bring new ideas and approaches to the table. The ultimate goal is to deliver a lidar system beyond the state-of-the-art that disrupts the industry and sets the standard for the future of transportation.Duties and responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software for a next generation automotive lidar projectCollaborate with the hardware team, machine vision experts, and other stakeholders to create and implement innovative solutionsWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient codeParticipate in code reviews and ensure software meets quality standardsCreate and maintain software documentationTroubleshoot and debug issues as they ariseStay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements and bring new ideas and approaches to the tableContribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processesQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on C++ and PythonStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsFamiliarity with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, and Agile methodologiesExperience with LiDAR technology and/or autonomous vehicles a plus.Excellent communication and teamwork abilitiesPassion for technology and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trendsStrong understanding of software development best practicesAble to work in fast-paced startup environmentKnowledge of ISO quality standards and familiarity with quality management.
