YOUR MISSION We are currently seeking a versatile and highly skilled Accounting Expert to join our Global Finance team in Barcelona.
In this strategic role, you will bring your deep expertise in IFRS and financial reporting, as well as a strong business acumen, to drive financial excellence and support multidisciplinary projects across the organization.
THE JOURNEY Provide Expert Guidance on Financial Reporting.
Serve as authority on accounting standards (IFRS) and financial reporting, offering expert insights to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Lead Multidisciplinary Financial Projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different departments (e.
., Operations, Technology, Strategy) to support key business initiatives, ensuring that all financial implications are identified and addressed.
Drive Strategic Accounting Initiatives.
Active participation in projects that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes, including month-end closing, consolidation, and reporting.
Promote best practices and continuous improvement.
Ensure Compliance and Quality.
Develop and implement robust accounting policies and controls to ensure compliance with global standards, regulatory requirements, and Delivery Hero Group internal policies.
Support Business Growth with Technical Insights.
Provide technical accounting advice and thought leadership to senior management and business partners, helping them understand the financial impact of strategic decisions.
Act as a Trusted Partner.
Work closely with Delivery Hero and other Glovo stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact for all accounting-related matters.
Mentor and Develop Teams.
Provide mentorship and guidance to local accounting teams, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE Education.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A master’s degree or professional accounting certification (e.
., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
Experience.
7+ years in accounting, financial advisory, or auditing roles, with a proven track record in international environments.
Exposure to diverse industries is highly preferred.
Business Acumen.
Strong understanding of how accounting impacts overall business strategy and performance, with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable business recommendations.
Technical Expertise.
Mastery of IFRS and experience in managing complex accounting transactions.
A deep understanding of global compliance standards and regulatory requirements is essential.
Versatility.
Demonstrated ability to work on multidisciplinary projects and collaborate effectively with teams across different functions and geographies.
Soft Skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for non-expert audiences.
Technical Proficiency.
Proficiency in financial reporting tools (e.
., OneStream, SAP S/4HANA) and advanced skills in Excel and G-Suite.
Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools is a plus.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
Strong analytical mindset with a strategic, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Leadership and Mentoring.
Experience in leading and mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of excellence and innovation.
