The Institute The Cent re for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries.
The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
In April , the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research ' Award from the European Commission.
This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).
Please, check out our Recruitment Policy The role    The User-oriented IT Technician will work with the other IT team members, dealing with any user-oriented tasks.
Part of the work is likely to be in the helpdesk area, answering user requests.
The rest of the time will be distributed between training and system administration user-oriented tasks (cybersecurity, networking, Office 365, etc.)  The main responsibilities are.
Helpdesk.
To provide general IT s upport to the users and to triage issues to more specialist team members.
I nstallation and support of computer Hardware and Software, AV equipment in meeting rooms, printers, telephon y and mobile devices  Maintaining the I nventory database of all IT Equipment and Software Systems-Administration.
Management and support of the user-oriented services provided by the IT department including Email, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Active Directory, etc.
Management of the IT infrastructure including network switches and firewalls User training.
Organization of user training related to any IT services, in collaboration with the Training & Academic Office  Review of the IT documentations   About the department  The IT Department is responsible for providing IT services to over 500 users (employees or collaborators) located in Barcelona Biomedical Research Park – PRBB.
The department is divided into 3 areas.
the Helpdesk team - responsible for the direct support to the user, the Systems Administration team - in charge of administrating all the IT systems and the Web team - responsible of the web development and support.
Whom would we like to hire?   Professional experience Must Have You have a bachelor's degree in computing, Telecommunications, or similar degree  You have basic experience in IT Systems Administration  You have ability to effectively explain technical issues to non-technical users You have ability to provide a high-quality customer-focused IT support service  You have knowledge of Windows , Mac OS, Linux main distribution (CentOS, Ubuntu), hardware installation and PC assembly, smartphones and common telephony, audio-visuals (projectors etc…), networks (LAN, WIFI, Firewall), Office 365 (Exchange online, SharePoint, Teams, etc)  Desirable but not required/ Nice to have You have experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) You have experience with security technologies and frameworks You have experience in management and monitoring tools (Nagios, Centreon, Cacti, Microsoft Systems Center)  Languages You talk English, Spanish and Catalan Competences    Initiative.
