Context And Mission The Earth Sciences department is looking for a web developer with background on user-centered design to work in the Computational Earth Sciences and the Earth System Services groups.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent technical skills and an interest in design and usability to produce high-quality products and high impact services related to the dissemination activities of the Earth Sciences Department (www.

The selected candidate will be in charge of gathering technical and usability requirements, interacting with design and visualization teams and user testing.
The candidate will also participate in the improvement and maintenance of online operational services (e.

Key Duties Participate in web developments including requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing.
During the development phase, provide technical solutions compliant with the design and interface definitions Maintain existing websites and propose improvements to enrich contents and user experience Additionally, the developer will provide support to test, integrate, and deploy online products Requirements Education Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline Having a Master’s degree in UX, design, usability or related topics will be valued Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience 3-5 years of experience in web development and/or UX development Understanding of Java, CSS, HTML 5, JavaScript and Drupal Experience in interacting with users to define user requirements and business needs Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience Understanding of Web services will be valued Understanding of relational, noSQL, and file-based storage products will be valued Experience in staff supervision Competences Skills in data visualization, interfaces and front-end developments Design-orientated mindset and skills will be valued Experience with Adobe creative suite will be valued Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and within international teams.
