We are looking for a VAT Analyst to join our team in Asturias.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate VAT returns, performing VAT closing activities, and delivering quality Indirect Tax reports on time.
Your key responsibilities.
Prepare accurate VAT returns (monthly/ quarterly basis).
Perform VAT closing activities/manual entries in an accurate way.
Support DSCI team in VAT Account reconciliation process, by reviewing on monthly basis the VAT accounting entries.
To prepare and deliver quality Indirect Tax reports as required by internal or external requirements on time (VAT declarations, Tax audits, etc..).
Perform detailed review, analysis and interpretation of defined processes in the VAT area, ensuring accuracy of data and adequate processing and reporting.
Support on preparation and submission of 8th/ 13th directive.
Keep up to date on Legislation related to EU VAT Directive, local VAT legislation and any other informative returns in the country under responsibility (Continuous Professional Education).
To participate on internal & external financial audits.
Support the local and tax organization particularly in case of tax audits.
Participate in special projects either based on business requests for support or internal team projects for continuous improvement of processes and data quality.
Major Challenges.
Day-by day working to achieve daily processing objectives.
To initiate and drive improvement opportunities in the scope of the team.
To know and implement a series of operating procedures that demand attention to detail under pressure conditions.
Cooperate with the VAT experience resources, IT tax team and Tax Organization in various VAT/TAX projects and initiatives.
Qualifications.
Accounting/ finance University degree.
Minimum 3 years finance/accounting/audit experience.
SAP R3 knowledge is a must.
Deep knowledge of the EU VAT Directive is a must.
VAT compliance experience and knowledge in LATAM and EMEA region are a must.
Experience in managing VAT audits/Tax Authorities requests in EMEA or LATAM countries would be considered a plus.
Computer literate.
Demonstrated ability to work with email programs and excel.
Management of SharePoint sites would be considered a plus.
Business proficiency in English.
A second language (Italian, French, German) would be considered a plus.
