Farnborough (Onsite) Salary.

Shift role working 2 days, then 2 nights followed by 4 days off rotation 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.

What you’ll do   Role purpose.
To be part of an VBSE Assure team in a Network Management Centre supporting multiple networks, providing 2nd Line operational support to Government customers.
To provide expert technical services focusing on Transmission and IP elements within the VBSE network.
• Undertake Assure team maintenance and fault work in accordance with customer service level agreements.
• Undertake remote provide/ commissioning work on Tx, IP and equipment deployed on customer and network sites to current specifications.
• Deal effectively /efficiently with queries from customers.
• Perform regular audits on the networks and systems.
• Provide technical support to others in the department and to customers.
Make recommendations to VBSE management on complex technical matters.
Who you are   • Be able to maintain Customer confidentiality and ability to hold security clearance.
• Understanding of in depth knowledge of Transmission equipment and networks, DWDM, SDH, PDH, etc, in a telecoms provider environment.
• Awareness of configuration of Ciena and Alcatel equipment.
• In depth knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing in a telecoms provider environment.
• Awareness of configuration of Cisco and Alcatel IP/Ethernet equipment.
• A clear and analytical approach to problem management.
