AWS CLOUD PLATFORM ADMINISTRATOR TRAINEE

As part of the Cloud Operations and Platform Services Unit (OPDA), the consultant will be responsible for delivering Cloud Platform technical expertise within the Cloud Services Section.The Cloud Team is composed of Azure, AWS and GCP Engineers providing Platform and Cloud Operational Support to internal and external UN clients. The team is mainly located in Valencia and Geneva and Nearshore/Offshore locations.Due to internal changes and increase of client demand, there is a need to hire a new consultant.Required Profile:•Profile Type: Junior (0-2 years of relevant IT expertise)•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field•The consultant will work under the supervision of the Cloud Team HeadResponsibilities:•Assist senior team members in daily cloud platform operations•Help with basic container and Kubernetes tasks under supervision•Contribute to documentation efforts•Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing sessionsTERMS OF REFERENCE•Assist in monitoring cloud resources and services•Help with basic troubleshooting under guidance•Support the team in routine maintenance tasks•Learn and apply best practices in cloud operations•Assist in preparing reports and presentations as neededEssential Knowledge:•Basic Linux administration•Familiarity with container concepts (e.g. Docker)•Good command of English (written and spoken)Required Technical Skills:•Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)•Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts•Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, Golang)•Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)•Awareness of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools•Basic understanding of CI/CD conceptsRequired Soft Skills:•Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies•Good communication skills•Basic problem-solving abilities•Ability to work in a team environment•Attention to detailDesirable:•Basic application development background•Any foundational cloud-related certifications•Basic knowledge of monitoring tools•Familiarity with agile methodologiesTERMS OF REFERENCEDevelopment Plan:As part of the professional growth strategy for this Junior position, the successful candidate will be required to obtain one of the following certifications during the 6-month contract period:•Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Linux Essentials•Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)•AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner•Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)•Google Cloud Digital LeaderWorking Conditions:•Teleworking option available•Joining on-call rotations after sufficient training (week per month)
