BIOTECH PURCHASING SPECIALIST

This allows us to be close to our solution users, providing the best possible customer care and ensuring our technical service reaches customers worldwide.We are looking for a person to join the Purchasing Office team as a Purchasing Specialist being responsible for managing the process of sourcing and homologating raw materials necessary for the production and development of the company's biotechnological products. This person will collaborate closely with suppliers, research and development (R&D) teams, engineering, planning, and production departments to ensure the timely and efficient availability of materials that meet biotechnology industry standards.ResponsabilitiesSupplier Management:Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers of raw materials specialized in biotechnology.Maintain strong and effective relationships with key suppliers.Negotiate contracts and supply terms to obtain the best conditions for quality, price, and delivery.Inventory ControlMonitor inventory levels of raw materials and propose purchases.Coordinate with the production department to ensure the availability of materials according to production plans.Analysis And EvaluationPerform cost-benefit analysis of purchases.Periodically analyze optimal inventory levels, as well as purchase batches and safety stocks.Documentation And ComplianceManage documentation associated with the homologation of a product/supplier.Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards related to the purchase and use of raw materials.Manage non-conformities with suppliers.Interdepartmental CollaborationWork together with R&D, engineering, planning, and production teams, among others, to understand raw material needs and anticipate possible risks.Provide relevant information on market trends and material availability to the departments involved.RequirementsUniversity degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field. A master's degree in purchasing is valuable.At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar role within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or biochemical industry.Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations.Experience in international trade.Deep knowledge of raw materials used in biotechnology.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Familiarity with ERP systems, with experience in SAP being valuable.Proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
