CALL FOR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW CANDIDATES AT THE DEUSTO SUSTAINABLE RESEARCH GROUP: BUILDING ENERGY SIMULATION

The Vice-rectorate for Research and International Relations along with the Deusto Sustainable Research Group at the University of Deusto are seeking postdoctoral candidates to join the Faculty of Engineering Research team’s website.

− Development of a research portfolio (Backgroung, projects and publications) and collaboration in the fund-acquisition process.
Research Topic − Energy modeling approaches in one of the following fields.
o Occupant confort assessment in the context of heat waves and overheating of buildings o Short-term energy and confort assessment for its integration in predictive building controls o Building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems o Urban energy planning o District- and regional-scale energy systems Objectives of the position − Publishing in high impact journals (WoS and SJR) along with group members − Working in competitive projects (Basque Government, Spanish Government, Horizon Europe…) − Submitting competitive research proposals.

An allocation of to gross euros per year will be granted, distributed into 15 monthly installments, depending on the candidate’s experience.

The contract with the University of Deusto will fall under the associate researcher/investigador/a asociado/a category.
Qualifications required − PhD degree in Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, Architecture or other STEM fields.
Applicants who completed their PhD from onwards are welcome.
− Background in building physics, building energy simulation, urban/regional energy analytics, and/or data-driven energy análisis.
− Fluency with the relevant modelling, simulation and análisis tools in the field.
− Fluency in English (C1 or higher) − Track-record in scientific writing and publication.
Several publications in high-impact journals and frequent conference publications.
Other valuable aspects − Proven experience in multi-party research.
Participation in research networks, multi-party research projects, and/or a strong international research networks.
− Proven capacity to understand energy systems at building and district scale, considering technical criterio and stakeholders approaches.
− Fluency in Spanish (B2 or higher) − We are looking for a person with professional competences, empathy, ability to work in a team, motivation for innovation and research, ability to adapt, and that identifies with the mission of the University of Deusto.
