CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER SJEFSLEGE FOR VIKING TRAVEL CARE

Viking Travel Care was launched in as a new service area for Viking Assistance Group.
We are now planning an expansion of our services and will establish our own inhouse medical team and medical assistance services.
In relation to this we are looking for a medical physician with long experience from travel insurance alarm center and assistance who would like to help us build up and take responsibility for the medical aspect of our service offering.
Overall job description The chief medical officer (CMO) will have the professional medical responsibility for Viking Travel Care.
The position shall support Travel Care Management to ensure that medical processes are wellfunctioning and compliant in line with best medical practice and secure the fulfilment of contracts and agreed service levels and that the customers (patients) feeling safe and satisfied.
The role will lead the contact doctor team in Viking Travel Care and will also function as a contact doctor.
Responsibilities Professional medical responsibility in Viking Travel Care Compliance of medical routines and processes Onboard lead and train the team of contact doctors Manage support train and give feedback to the medical team both on a general level and on casebycase basis Ensure medical teams performance secures i.

the fulfillment of contracts and agreed service levels as well as customer satisfaction Provide advice and support to the management team Viking Travel Cares medical team and coordinators Work as contact doctor on medical cases and medical transport cases including Active contact with hospitals and doctors all over the world Active contact with patients and relatives Evaluation of medical information writing medical assessments and transport orders Quality assessments and audits as well as feedback on complaints Represent Viking Travel Care in meetings with insurance companies customers etc.
Qualifications Qualified medical doctor with specialization preferably within aviation medicine anaesthesiology surgery or emergency medicine.
Other specialization can also be relevant.
Broad experience in travel assistance medical cases i.

travel insurance; emergency cases surgical procedures travel medicine aviation medicine.
Fluent in Norwegian Finnish Danish or Swedish and proficiency in written and spoken English.
Additional languages e.

Spanish Greek Turkish Italian or other is a plus.

In Spain we have offices Torrevieja outside Alicante and a new office in Fuengirola outside Malaga.
Employment type Fulltime position.
(As an alternative a parttime position also be discussed.) If stationed in the Nordic frequent travelling to our offices in Spain will be necessary.

Worked as a contact doctor with travel insurance alarm cases Speaks one of the Nordic languages (Norwegian Swedish Danish or Finnish) and English.
Additional languages are a plus.
Specialization in anesthesiology orthopedics surgery aviation medicine internal medicine cardiology or general medicine is preferred but other specialization can also be interesting.
