Cloud Data Engineer is required to join a leading global brand based in Madrid, Spain working on a large scale initiative.This international organization are offering a 6 month contract w/ extensions & hybrid working (3 days p/w in office)ROLE / DESCRIPTION: Main activities The service will be provided within the GEM IS Data teams, which are responsible for proposing, building, and maintaining data solutions, ranging from the creation and maintenance of ETL processes to the productionalization of models and the development of an MLOps framework. Key Responsibilities: Data Pipeline Design & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and transformation across various platforms.Data Modeling & Architecture: Define and implement scalable data architectures that support both real-time and batch processing, ensuring the integrity, quality, and accessibility of data. Cloud Integration: Design and deploy data solutions on cloud platforms, with a focus on optimizing performance, cost, and security. Automation & Orchestration: Implement and manage automation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and reporting processes. Ensure minimal manual intervention is required through effective automation. Machine Learning Integration: Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models into production environments using MLOps practices. Data Governance & Quality: Establish best practices for data governance, including data lineage, documentation, security, and compliance. Implement monitoring tools to ensure data quality and consistency across all systems. Collaboration with Business Experts: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and automate processes related to markets such as intraday trading, reserve bidding, and grid nominations. DevOps Collaboration: Work in a DevOps environment, where you will take full responsibility from design to operations. You should ensure that well-developed automation requires very little operational care.Performance Optimization:Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines, databases, and applications to ensure efficient data processing. Mentorship & Leadership: Lead and mentor junior data engineers, sharing knowledge of best practices in data engineering, DevOps, testing, and cloud usage. At the same time, you will collaborate with other data engineers to define best practices in testing, quality, governance, and data design.Language Skills:Fluent in EnglishFluent Spanish is a big bonus
