We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Barcelona team and play a critical role in shaping our cloud infrastructure strategy and software delivery processes.Job Summary:As a DevOps Engineer, you will be integral in building and managing cloud infrastructure that supports scalable, reliable, and secure applications, with a specific focus on IoT communication systems. You will work on optimizing and automating cloud environments to support the transfer, analysis, and processing of data from IoT devices, leveraging protocols and tools such as MQTT and Kafka. You’ll collaborate closely with development, IT operations, and IoT architecture teams to ensure our systems are equipped for reliable, high-performance data handling. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud-native technologies, IoT data management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in cloud and IoT infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available, scalable cloud environments using AWS or Azure. Ensure performance, cost-efficiency, and security across cloud deployments, with emphasis on supporting IoT data flows.IoT Communication Systems Management: Implement and manage IoT communication protocols and message brokers (e.g., MQTT, Kafka) to enable efficient, reliable, and secure communication across IoT devices.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to standardize and automate resource provisioning.Data Streaming & Processing for IoT: Design and maintain robust data streaming pipelines to manage and process high volumes of data from IoT sources in real-time using tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Azure IoT Hub.Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes, focusing on applications that ingest and analyze IoT data.Cloud Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for cloud security, including managing identity and access, enforcing network policies, and performing regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, especially for IoT devices and data.Monitoring, Logging, & Incident Response: Leverage cloud-native monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Prometheus) to monitor infrastructure and IoT communication performance. Develop incident response strategies to minimize downtime and ensure quick resolution of issues.Automation & Optimization: Automate operational tasks such as deployments, backups, scaling, and patch management for cloud resources that support IoT systems. Optimize resource usage to reduce costs and improve performance.Collaboration with Development & IoT Teams: Work closely with software development, IT operations, and IoT teams to create cloud infrastructure solutions that support high-throughput IoT data pipelines.Version Control & Configuration Management: Utilize tools like Git for version control and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet to maintain consistent infrastructure states.Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate workflows and enhance infrastructure management in cloud and IoT environments.Requirements:3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or IT operations, with a strong emphasis on cloud and IoT communication systems.Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including experience with EC2, S3, VPCs, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), and serverless technologies.Strong knowledge of IoT protocols and messaging systems, primarily MQTT, Kafka, and HTTPS.Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and their integration with cloud platforms.Experience managing IoT communication systems and data streaming using tools like Kafka, MQTT brokers, AWS IoT, or Azure IoT Hub.Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards, especially for IoT data management.Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.Knowledge of networking, security protocols, and best practices in cloud environments.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).Fluent in English and Catalan.Benefits:Competitive salary.Flexible work options (remote or hybrid).Flexible working hoursHybrid WorkingOpportunities for growth and development in a dynamic, cloud and IoT-focused environment.
