About the Role.
An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee position with our Engineering Department in Jumeirah Mallorca.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role.
• Assist with daily inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Support the team in performing basic repair work, including plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.
• Learn to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with HVAC systems, lighting, and other essential building functions.
• Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance tasks under the guidance of experienced technicians.
• Assist in checking equipment and systems for optimal performance and report any unusual findings.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Participate in safety training and emergency response procedures.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with local regulations and Jumeirah quality standards.
• Help manage maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring they are stocked and well-organized.
• Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
About you.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications.
Qualification • High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A technical degree or certification in maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
Experience • Strong interest in maintenance and facilities management is essential.
Skills • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
• Friendly, approachable and professional.
• Intermediate knowledge of English is a plus.
