FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

An international asset management firm is looking for a Financial Controller for its Madrid offices:Core Responsibilities:Supporting the CFO and senior FC: Facilitating communication and coordination with senior financial leadership and rest of internal/external stakeholders.Department Restructuring and Process Automation: Collaborate closely with the senior finance members to restructure the operations and finance department. Contribute to the automation of processes and the development of value-added procedures to enhance business integration with Parent CompanyExternal Administrator Outsourcing: Contribute to the review of the external administrator outsourcing initiative.Financial Audit Contribution: Assist in the implementation of the plan for the financial audit process for all entities within the group, currently encompassing 17 entities.Quarterly Valuations Ownership: Assist the senior FC to the quarterly valuations process across the entire portfolio.Business Plan: Support the creation, evaluation, and adjustment of comprehensive business plans.Performance Attribution and Reporting: Contribute to the enhancement of the performance attribution and gross-to-net reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the portfolio.Core Accounting Oversight: Ability to cover and contribute to the supervision of the core accounting functions of the Management Company Entity. Candidate to demonstrate experience in preparing quarterly management accounts and annual financial statements to thoroughly understand and challenge externally prepared materials.Subsidiary Entities Accounting Oversight: Oversee the core accounting processes for half of the subsidiary entities holding portfolios of non-performing loans.Reconciliation Processes Management: Continuously strive to participate and improve the reconciliation processes and controlsAsset Servicing Companies Relationship Management: Handle relationship management with asset servicing companies concerning all finance-related matters.VAT and Corporation Tax Oversight: Ability to contribute to the VAT and corporation tax processes, coordinating with third-party service providers.Internal Relationship Management: Cultivate strong working relationships within Company, the other Parent Company businesses and the wider group.Experience (M/F/D):Proactive and Hands-On Approach: Take initiative in challenging and improving current processes, demonstrating a proactive attitude in a dynamic and challenging post-acquisition environment.4-5 years of experience in accounting/finance roles.Fluent in one of Spanish / English with strong working knowledge of the otherGood knowledge of IFRS and Spanish GAAP
