IENAI SPACE is an early-stage startup located in Madrid, developing an end-to-end ecosystem of in-space mobility products, including propulsion systems and engineering SaaS. We are a highly innovative company in the “New Space” sector; the team is made up of a dynamic and multidisciplinary group of engineers, PhDs and developers, looking to revolutionize space mobility for the adoption of propulsion products in the smallest of satellites. Specific tasks include the development and continuous improvement of the control, communications protocol, and data handling firmware of our ATHENA Nano propulsion system. You will have to handle open problems inherent to early-stage product development.Your key responsibilities will include:Assess technical feasibility: evaluate the technical feasibility of design concepts and contribute to technical solutions.Architecture design: assist in establishing embedded hardware and firmware architecture, breaking down the embedded system into modular components.Testing , verification and system integration: develop and execute automated and manual tests to evaluate and verify the implemented firmware solution.Technical reviews: actively participate in technical, design, and milestone reviews to ensure quality and progress alignment.What is your department like?You will be part of our Electrical Engineering and Electronics team, which is part of our Electric Propulsion department. This team is in charge of designing, testing, manufacturing and has the mission of continuous improvement of the electronic devices that enable thruster operation.What will make you succeed?We are looking for (must have):2-3 years of PROVEN experience in this field.Experience with coding C and C++ oriented towards the Microchip ARM MCU family.Experience with FreeRTOS or SafeRTOS.Spoken and written proficiency in English.Ability to identify problems and proactively communicate when facing challenges.We also value (nice to have):Experience with development for space applications. Safety critical coding practices will need to be implemented.Alternatively: experience in medical, automotive, railway, avionics or any area with strict safety/reliability requirementsKnowledge in MISRA C or any software development guidelines to facilitate safety and reliability (no malloc, stack overflow control, etc.).Experience with coding in Python.Willingness to learn and grow with a young team of electronics engineers.What benefits do we offer at IENAI SPACE?⏰ Schedule: we know that everyone works at their own pace, so you are free to organise your day in the way that works best for you.
