GENERAL COUNSEL - CONTINENTAL EUROPE

As General Counsel for Sodexo Continental Europe, you will provide strategic legal leadership, shaping Sodexo’s legal and regulatory landscape across a complex, multi-country region. With a focus on risk management, governance, and business growth, you’ll partner closely with our leadership team, playing an essential role in advancing our business objectives while safeguarding integrity and compliance across Continental Europe. This role will have dual reporting to the Group General Counsel and Zone President (Europe).What You’ll Do: Strategic Legal Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy that supports and aligns with Sodexo's business priorities, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across all regions.Risk and Compliance Oversight: Proactively assess and manage legal and regulatory risks, supporting compliance initiatives, handling litigation, and implementing governance practices across multiple jurisdictions.Corporate Governance and Transactions: Advise on corporate governance matters and oversee complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships essential to business growth.Team Development: Lead a diverse team of legal professionals, providing guidance, fostering development, and promoting a high-performance culture focused on service and collaboration.Resource and Budget Management: Ensure efficient management of legal resources, including budget oversight and effective use of external counsel to maintain high service standards.Global Collaboration: Coordinate with Sodexo’s global legal team to implement cohesive legal practices and strategies across different regions.Business Partnership: Work closely with business leaders to provide strategic legal advice that advances Sodexo’s operational and financial objectives in Continental Europe.Training and Knowledge Sharing: Oversee the provision of legal training across the region and facilitate knowledge sharing among legal teams to ensure best practices.What You Bring: A law degree and qualifications as a commercial lawyer, with extensive experience in a listed company and multi-jurisdictional legal leadership.Significant expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, and complex commercial transactions, with a focus on public contracts and corporate governance.Exceptional leadership, project management, and financial management skills, with a proven ability to lead teams in complex, matrixed environments.Excellent negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic solutions that balance business needs with legal safeguards.Experience advising Boards and Executives on company secretarial and governance matters.Strong collaboration and influencing skills, capable of driving alignment with executive leaders.Proficiency in multiple languages relevant to Continental Europe is highly advantageous.Successful candidates will need to live and reside within one of the relevant countries within the Continental Europe region: Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Finland, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, or Turkey.What We Offer:At Sodexo, being part of our legal team means more than just performing legal functions.
