HEAD OF DEVOPS

Position: Head of DevOps EngineeringLocation: 1-2 Days in Madrid p/wOverview: We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of DevOps Engineering to lead our engineering team in achieving excellence in software development, deployment, and infrastructure management. This leadership role involves defining and executing the DevOps strategy to align with our business goals, fostering an innovative and collaborative team culture, and driving operational efficiency through automation and cloud technologies.Key Responsibilities:Team Management: Lead and manage the engineering team, focusing on talent acquisition, professional development, and retention. Foster a positive and innovative team culture, mentoring engineers and ensuring the implementation of best DevOps practices.Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement a technical strategy aligned with the company's objectives. Evaluate emerging technologies, select appropriate technology stacks, and design solutions to drive company growth.KPI and Team Performance: Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as deployment frequency, time to production, test coverage, change failure rate, and mean time to restore. Ensure continuous improvement in team outcomes.Product Development Oversight: Partner with Product Management to prioritize and manage initiatives. Oversee the timely and budget-conscious delivery of high-quality software, ensuring adherence to best practices in development, architecture, and design.QA and Security: Lead the establishment of robust QA processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our products.Infrastructure Development and Maintenance: Design and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Implement cloud-based solutions to support development and operational requirements. Ensure that CI/CD pipelines automate the release process, monitor system performance, and conduct security assessments.Operational Efficiency: Continuously improve operational efficiencies within the engineering team by optimizing development processes, implementing automation, and focusing on IaC to enable repeatable and efficient infrastructure management.Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the engineering team and stakeholders. Communicate technical plans, challenges, and progress effectively to non-technical stakeholders.Compliance and Regulation: Ensure that products comply with industry regulations and standards, particularly within the fintech space. Stay up to date with financial regulatory landscapes to ensure the organization’s compliance.Risk Management: Identify and assess technical risks, develop contingency plans, manage technical debt, and ensure system reliability. Proactively prepare for potential cybersecurity threats.Required Skills & Experience:Strong leadership and team management capabilities in a DevOps environment.In-depth experience with .NET C#, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (YAML), and Cloud-Native Applications.Experience designing and managing scalable and reliable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Azure (including Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Key Vault, Azure CLI, etc.).Deep understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, xUnit, SonarCloud, GitHub, and related tools and technologies.Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of technical architecture, configuration management, and system reliability.Ability to drive product development initiatives while ensuring alignment with business goals and financial regulations.Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Solid understanding of security best practices and experience conducting security assessments.Desirable Skills:Experience with Azure CLI, Bicep, and Azure Service Bus.Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure App Insights, Azure Log Analytics, and Serilog.Background in leading high-performing engineering teams and working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
